The Imperial's "TOKO-AN" is a set of three ceremonial chambers, all faithful in minute detail to the prescribed sukiya style.
Guests are invited to watch as their tea is prepared in the traditional fashion. While an especially elaborate etiquette exists for both host and guest, it will suffice if our guests from overseas will simply sit as comfortably and as peacefully as possible on the tatami mat floors, noting the unique characteristics of the chambers, vestibules and pathways, preferably in silence.
